Geocache Description:


I have been a proud Sasktel employee for almost 30 years and I thought it was about time I created a little quiz about Sasktel's history.
After all Sasktel celebrated its centenial in 2008.

As usual for mystery caches, the above coordinates are bogus.
The cache can be found at the following coordinates:
N 50 2A.BCD W 104 EF.GHI

Year which saw an act of legislature passed  amending the Saskatchewan Government Telephone Act to have the corporation become officially  known as Saskatchewan Telecommunications.
Assign the  last digit of that year to the letter A and the third digit of that year to the letter B.

In 1905 there were  about this many telephones in operation in the larger cities of Sask. Divide this value by 1000 and assign it to the letter C.

Year where Direct Distance Dialing (DDD) by the customer was first introduced to the province. Assign the last digit of that year to the letter D.

Year where the first  computer-controlled electronic switching equipment for local service was installed in Saskatoon.
Assign the last digit of that year to the letter E.

On this day in 1955 local service was first introduced in the province's most northern community,Uranium City.
Assign the last digit of the day to the letter F.

The year Sasktel  provided the lines for the first church service broadcast in Canada. Assign the last digit of that year to the letter G.

The first link of the fibre optic Broadband Network (BBN), between Regina and Yorkton, was inaugurated in January of that year.
