This is a micro located at the Town of Ajax LEED certified
Operations Centre. It is very accessible with parking within a few
meters.
At first glance, the solar sail at this location looks like a
simple piece of art, but it generates green power and exemplifies
the philosophy behind the new building. It also reflects the
conscience of Town Council, Town staff and the residents of the
community. Other features of the Operations Centre include a green
roof, geothermal heating, rainwater collection and 484 solar panels
totalling 100 kilowatts, which will generate roughly 121,000
kilowatt hours of electricity per year. The Operations Centre is
the home of the Town's Operations and Environmental Services
Department which is responsible for parks, snow clearing, building
maintenance, fleet services, etc.
