A'gas dynergh Goss Moor - Crossing the Fal Traditional Cache
A'gas dynergh Goss Moor - Crossing the Fal
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The River Fal flows through and is joined by many tributaries across the Goss Moor which acts as natural sponge, soaking up and retaining water helping to prevent flash floods downstream. The moor is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is home to many species of wildlife. Otters are making a comeback on the Moor and fish are returning to the streams
When the cache was placed in May 2011 Natural England were in the process of creating new footpaths and bridges and diverting the Fal across the centre of the Moor. Consequently the area can be churned up in places but that doesn't detract from the natural beauty of the surroundings. In a few months, the Moor will have reclaimed these areas. The work that Natural England is carrying out is improving access to all areas of the Moor. All of the caches are accessible during the work, though you may have to take alternative paths from time to time. Thanks to Natural England for allowing us to place the cache and for encouraging geocaching in the area.
