Das Schloss Papendorf

Papendorf ist der Hauptort der gleichnamigen Gemeinde und bildet das kulturelle und sportliche als auch das wirtschaftliche Zentrum der Gemeinde. Direkt an der Warnow gelegen wurde Papendorf erstmalig 1257 urkundlich erwähnt. Im Jahre 1323 bestätigte Herzog Heinrich der Fürstin Agnes von Rostock den Besitz von Papendorf. Bis Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts bestimmten die Ziegelei Höppner/Killinger und die Ziegelei der Gebrüder Börger das wirtschaftliche Geschehen von Papendorf. Das Schloss Papendorf, das Killinger erbauen ließ, ist jetzt wieder im Privatbesitz und wird liebevoll restauriert.
