Uncle Simon's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hobgoblinkiteflier: This cache has been muggled too many times. The broken glass was a hard disk platter that was one of the original swaps. It is a shame that the log book has gone as it had a few humorous entries from various muggles who had found it, but left the cache intact.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a 3 litre box filled with random useless stuff, hidden near the river Almond and the Killandean Burn.

Uncle Simon doesn't understand geocaching. "Why can't you just go for a walk?" he says. Well, for a start it takes you to interesting and cool places like this. You can see the confluence of the Killandean Burn with the river Almond nearby.  There are some fine old trees here too.

He kindly (more like sarcastically) gave us a plastic box for Christmas, which he thoughtfully filled with swag. I have finally made it ready to hide by adding a log book and giving it a quick paint job. Unfortunately, it doesn't look very waterproof, but it is not far from home and I can check up on it regularly.

When placed the contents included:

  • a golf ball
  • lead nails
  • ear plugs
  • a mermaid's purse
  • the insert from a can of draught beer
  • a 2010 diary cover
  • tiny plastic toys
  • a rubbish yo-yo
  • a turned wooden knob, etc, etc.

Please write in your log which items you swapped and what you intend doing with the item you take.  I have found an amusing thread in the forums about the imaginary swapping of worthless swag and this is the real life version!
