Honren-ji had held in 1620 by Nikkei.
It was one of the big three temples in Nagasaki.
In this area, there was San Johan Babtista church that was one of the great 3 churches in Nagasaki, and San Razaro hospital.
Honren-ji is known as where Kaishu Katsu was lived in when he was learning sailing skills at the navy school.
And there is a grave of So-nojo Sawamura who was a member of Kaien-Tai.
