Reuse - High N Dry Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Rock Rabbit: This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines.

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please post a note here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Geocache Description:

CONGRATUALTIONS TO COUGARCACHE24 AND CACHEDFISH FOR CO- FTF.

This is the second in a series of caches that recognizes the tradition of re-using common household containers to serve a second life as a geo-cache. It is a micro placed (BYOP) in a wheelchair accessible location with a great view. Ramp coordinates provide access for wheel chair cachers to Barnkat and, sometime in the future, on to KGY caches. The path is still under construciton.

The entrance to Swan Town Marina is a dredged channel well marked by lighted buoys. Each year boaters get lulled by the waters in front of the beach into taking a shortcut into the harbor. Especially for deep keeled boats, mostly sailboats, this can result in running hard aground, sometimes hard enough that they must wait for the rising tide to get them floating again. The photo is not one taken below this cache site, but maybe you will get a chance on a low tide to take a picture of one to share with us. Usually, these boats re-float without incident, but can be embarrassing for the skipper who can do little but wait it out and hope friends don’t happen to be there to notice.

Do bring your camera, as you will find the view worth capturing, especially on a sunny day with all kinds of boating activity including rowing, kayaking, sailing and power boats as well as sunsets and mountains. By the way, all the shouting going on at the boat launch doesn’t necessarily signal distress or angst, mostly. It is the only way people getting their boats in or out of the water can hear each other above the roar of their trucks. Wheel chair access for a ramp leading to the pathway are: N 47.03.463 W 122.54.008 Non-activated TB for the first to find with a Designated Disability permit. Virtual pat on the back for other FTF.
