This cache has been archived.

Growly Bear: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Fairfield Park is a large sports park in the suburb of Fairfield. The Park has a hall on it which was originally built with thought to it becoming a gym. While this did not eventuate it is now serving its purpose as a community centre. The park has many links to the surrounding neighbourhood and is located next to Fairfield Primary School with the skate park and the playgrounds around the park providing great entertainment for school kids outside of classroom hours. The park has good green space links across the suburb of Fairfield towards the Waikato River with an access to Caro Park located across Heaphy Terrace.

Te Whare o te Ata Community House borders Fairfield Park near the Northwest corner, and was established in 1986 to support and affirm the Fairfield/Chartwell Community. It is a large house with open plan lounge, dinning and kitchen area that is suitable for up to 20 people.

Regular activities include a vege garden, social English classes, tattoo removal, monthly Okapu wananga, Community Living Trust cooking, drama and marae skills classes, computer club, and several regular hires.

Geocachers are also welcome to pop in for a cup of coffee or use our computer suite when the house is open. We're very friendly!
