Geocache Description:

Erinnerung an die Wüstungen der Wische

Die Pest und der 30-jährige Krieg hinterließen ihre Spuren in der Wische, zahlreiche Dörfer gingen unter, so auch Arensberg (Narrenberg) zwischen Berge und Werben. Wegen der natürlichen Anhöhe bot diese Schutz gegen das Elbhochwasser für die umliegenden Orte. Heute erinnert lediglich eine Flurbezeichnung an dieWüstung.

Weitere wüste Orte in der Nähe sind Aland, Theen, Klinte, Käcklitz und Beverlak. Diese Wüstungen lagen zwischen Werben und Osterholz.

Der Cache ist unmittelbar am Elberadweg und dem Altmarkrundweg gelegen.
