The township of Dookie North was surveyed in 1872. The town had
all the usual buildings and services including several pubs,
various general stores, saddlers shop, blacksmiths, baker,
creamery, churches and schools.
The town started to decline after the railway came through in
1888 and the current site of Dookie township began to grow. The
last buildings were removed around 1909.
The cache is located approximately where the 209 is on the map,
and looking across the road and down the slope towards Grattan
Street.
This area should be relatively muggle free, on a gravel road
that could be slippery if it has been raining. The cache is a 1.25
litre click top painted container. It contains log book and small
swaps and scratchie for the first to find. It is hidden in the
usual way. We hope you enjoyed your visit to Dookie North.
