CACH IS NOT ACCESSIBLE FROM FOUR-LANE HIGHWAY! DO NOT ATTEMPT FROM HIGHWAY!
US Route 50 runs from Ocean City, MD to Sacramento, CA, over 3000 miles. This series focuses on the portion between Parkersburg and Clarksburg, WV. Locally known as Route 50, George Washington Highway, Northwest Turnpike, Cooridor D- this section is now entirely four-lane highway. There are still several segments of older highway that can be seen and travelled. In some areas, more than one older alignment may be found. This cache takes you off the highway onto an old section of roadway. West of the cache location the old roadway crossed to the south side of the existing four lane highway. From the highway you will notice the cut that the new highway goes through, with the ends of the old roads above you. Below you on this hill is an old railroad tunnel, wich is now part of the North Bend Rail Trail.
Cache is a medium sized lock and lock type container. Pretty standard hide.
