Geocache Description:

This is two in a series of five caches located in the Manzano Mountains. To complete the entire loop and all five caches, begin at the Fourth of July Campground, and head out on the 4th of July Trail, (173). Stay on that trail until you reach a T-junction with Cerro Blanco Trail (79) on your left and the Crest Trail (170) on your right. Turn right onto the Crest Trail (170) for another 0.5 miles, then turn right for the last 0.25 miles. At this point, you will have a great view of Mosca Peak and the Rio Grande Valley. Backtrack the 0.75 miles to the T-junction and turn right onto the Cerro Blanco Trail (79). Follow this trail down for the next 1.5 miles until you reach FR 55. Turn left and follow FR 55 down to the gate of the Fourth of July Campground. The entire hike is approximately 6.41 miles with an elevation gain of 1300 feet.

Detailed hiking instructions can be found in the book "60 Hikes within 60 Miles: Albuquerque including Santa Fe, Mount Taylor, and San Lorenzo Canyon" by Stephen Ausherman.

Cache is located about 90 feet off the trail - little or no bushwacking should be needed. You are looking for a small peanut butter jar. Pepper has included a photo on this one if you need some more help.

Congratulations to Team Tuxawuxa for FTF!
