The Lafayette Moraga trail used to be the right-of-way for the Sacramento Northern. My Dad, who grew up on Thompson Road in Lafayette, was and is a great fan of the SN and can tell you just about anything there is to know. I wish I could have seen it in its day.
The cache itself is a camoed micro on the uphill side of the trail. Bring your own pen. Coordinates are based on about 15 readings.
