The castle at Saint Briavels is a fine, twin-towered gatehouse, which once defended a crossbow factory. It is now a youth hostel. The castle is currently in the care of English Heritage and the bailey is open to the public daily from April to the end of September. Every May they celebrate the 12th century local tradition of giving out cheese and bread from the castle walls. Worth a visit if you are in the area at the time.
There is ample space for parking close to the cache site and the cache is not located on private property.
We were visiting the area and came across this gem and we thought that we just had to make others aware of this great place. Thanks to locals RaynSally for agreeing to keep an eye on the cache.
