Geocache Description:


In August 2001 I hid my second cache as Sankey Waters (GC1688) and it still survives though having been muggled several times and relocated twice it is now some 300 metres away.

While carrying out maintenance on that cache, I looked at the original location which has changed a little but is still a viable cache location so here it is, exactly where the first one was hidden nearly 10 years ago. I must say that the water of the Sankey Brook is so much cleaner than it was then as not so longer ago it was little better than an open sewer. I don't think any salmon have swum up from the Mersey yet, but you never know! Even so take care not to fall in! And keep a good watch out for muggles of all ages.

When I placed the original cache I thought that the local youth would almost certainly spot it and returned with a brick to place in front to give it a bit of cover. But it had gone, so I left the brick in place while I made a new cache - when I returned with that the brick had gone! This time the cover is perhaps less obvious and hopefully the access is not quite so easy so please be sure to put it back as you found it and hope it will survive a little longer.
