A small container located near the battery on the north end of the island.
Egmont Key was the home of Fort Dade which was established on the island when the Spanish American War was imminent. While walking around on the island you can view many of these ruins and take in the history of the island.
The cache is a small camoed container with room for small coins or trade items. It is located near one of the batterys on the north end.
After finding the cache, take the stairs to the top and enjoy the view!
The cache was placed with permission from a ranger. There is no need to bushwack and the cache is NOT located in any of the ruins.
Please be respectful of the environment, wildlife, and the historical ruins that are located in this area.
There are no restrooms, snacks or drinking water available on the island, so come prepared and don't forget the sun screen!
