Geocache Description:

Mr M remembers pumping his legs to get his bicycle up the hill.

Many years ago, Mr M would ride his heavy old 3 speed bicycle into Mildura to play tennis at the lawn tennis club. Having completed an afternoon of tennis he would ride home managing to get his bike up the hill in top gear. Mr M would also ride his bike with his good friend David Gill to a nearby spot to do a bit of fishing. Sadly David is no longer with us. Take the time to have a look at the inlet pipes. The pumping station raises water up the hill to feed the region's vast gravity feed irrigation channels. There is a good view of the cliffs with the old winery on top. Mr M's Father worked at the winery for many years before retirement. The hill was quite a bit higher as there was a ridge at the top. The top of the hill was flattened and regraded to make the hill smaller and less steep. The bottom of the hill marks the start of the 'Mad Mile'. The mile of straight road was used by locals to 'test' out their cars. The challenge was to get your car up to 100 mph and then slow down before getting to what was a sharp corner at the far end. We walked along the 'closed but well used track' to get here. You are looking for a large container here.
