I've always thought there is something mysterious about spinneys (a small group of trees). They're not big enough to properly be called 'woods' so seem to be rarely visited. The spinney where this small cache is hidden is relatively young, being the 'phase 2' extension of Greenwood Park (itself, well worth a visit for St Julian's Wood and chalk pit, plus a fantastic playground area at the southern edge).
Access is very easy from multiple directions. Easiest is: (1) via parking area at Midway Surgery / allotments site. Once parked, walk downhill to the edge allotments, turn left along a path, then join a surfaced path heading east. Keep going straight on when the surfaced path turns right and head straight towards the spinney which should be clearly in view. Head to the western edge of the spinney.
Other access options for this cache are: (2) parking around Killigrew School and access to Greenwood Park via footpath from end of North Close and (3) larger parking areas from the south side of Greenwood Park, accessed from Tippendell Lane.
Please could you leave the cache well hidden so that it is not easily visible to casual passers-by. Bear in mind that in winter months vegetation dies back so the cache location is more exposed
Happy hunting !!!!
