The third part of a Marine fire team is the ( SAW ) squad automatic weapon . this weapon fires a 7.62 X 54 mm NATO round . Belt fed . gas operated . Don't ask me the cyclite rate . ( how many rounds per minute ) It's alot . He and his squad leader are responcible for setting up his firing zone ! This is a team effort . hense Fire team ! There are 2 fire teams in a Marine corps squad ! 3 if it's a defensive team .
