Make a combined visit to Champagne Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, just south of Lemonthyme Lodge. Although steep in sections, it is a pleasant and rewarding walk. There is another cache, Kiss The Bride #6 (GCNPMA), at Bridal Veil Falls. There is normally a good flow of water over both falls year round, with spectacular views after prolonged rainfall in the area.
Turn off the Cradle Mountain Road about 3km south of Moina onto the Lemonthyme Lodge Road. On arrival at the lodge, park in the day visitor parking. Head into reception and register your walk. A map of the area with information about the flora and fauna of the area can also be obainted gratis.
Allow at least 2 hours for the walk. Although there is a good 4WD track for walking, access to vehicles is prevented by a locked gate. The first kilometre is quite a steep grade. Champagne Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are on a loop track. Given the terrain, it is suggested that you leave the 4WD track and go down a steep path to Champagne Falls. Then you can proceed up the side of Bull Creek, the track being quite undulating but any steep sections are quite short. Currently a rock hopping crossing of the creek is required about halfway to Bridal Veil Falls. After visiting Bridal Veil Falls, a good bridge will take you back across the creek and after a short steep section of track, you are back on the 4WD track. The 4WD track and the walking track are well sign posted.
The base of the Champagne Falls are in quite a deep ravine making the GPS a little inaccurate. The published coordinates will get you to the general area but the hint will be very helpful in pin pointing GZ.
Remember to sign out on your return to Lemonthyme Lodge.
