Welcome to the walton walkabout series of 8 caches.
This series of caches has been placed to provide a challenge,and hopefully a challenge they will be! it should keep you busy for 2/3 hours, some cache types you will have seen before and some you won't, each has it's own d&t rating and some of the ratings may seem high but it is not always going to be fine and dry. wheelchairs and buggies are really not suitable at all,and please take care with the little one's near the water, in the winter months stout/waterproof footwear is essential as with any woodland walk it can get very muddy.Some of the co-ords may be slightly out due to tree cover but once you arrive at the cache location all will become clear. Although there are many starting points for this series we think a good place to park is on foljambe avenue, just off the A632 chesterfield to matlock road at walton, (parking-n53.13.283' w001.27.147'). We're going to tee off with #1 in the woods close to the golf course, take the footpath across the road from where you've parked, (taking great care to cross the road) stealth will be needed at busy times as the golfers make their way up to the first tee, and it's a popular walking route aswell, as you approach the clubhouse take the woodland footpath instead of the tarmac one and head for ground zero. After finding this cache just follow the footpath to the bottom of the wood then exit & turn right down the hill for #2, and follow your gps arrow on a circular route picking up the caches as you go not forgetting to take in this beautiful woodland and the wildlife that abounds,please re-hide each cache well & try not to form cachers trails,happy hunting & good luck.
