A small 470 ml lock & lock container beside one of Burlington’s many creeks that flow into Lake Ontario. Parking is available and is readily accessible. Cache is kid friendly and has some swage in it for trade. Remember to watch out for muggles and put it back exactly as you found it. There's a Tim Hortons card for the FTF.
The village of Appleby was located at the intersection of Appleby Line and Middle Road. (Queen Elizabeth Way) and originated in the early 1800’s. It received it’s name from Appleby, Westmoreland, in England, the home of several of it’s pioneer families. The early community life in Appleby, a tiny hamlet centered around Appleby United Church. The village disappeared when the QEW was widened in 1958. Although the Appleby United Church and other dwellings are no longer there, there are many present day establishments that have the name Appleby in them. The road and this creek are two of them. The Appleby United Church is now south of the QEW near Appleby Line. The only thing there now is the Appleby Pioneer Cemetery established in 1861 which has a Geocache in it.
