Geocache Description:

The Listening Stones by Gordon Young, who worked with children from Monkscroft Primary School (n0w closed), sixth-former pupils from Cleeve School, GCHQ staff, local residents, and staff on the local newspaper, looking for ideas for the text, markings and symbols that cover the stones. In December 2004, nine granite boulders were installed in the park at Hester's Way. These had been designed to capture the theme of communication and were covered with images derived from with cyphers and encrypted messages. The sculptures were by Gordon Young, an artist who specialises in works for public spaces. The sculptures were donated at the cost of £150,000 by IAP, one of the companies involved in the construction of 'The Doughnut'(the nickname for the GCHQ building)under a Cheltenham public arts scheme. This can be a busy park, with the college nearby and a children's playground round the corner. There is parking nearby, but please be aware of parking restrictions. By kind permission of Cheltenham Borough Council. This is a micro, don't forget your pencil! You may need tweezers to extract the log. Please take care when replacing the container.
Congratulations FTF!
