Geocache Description:


A series placed to commemerate the end of the space shuttle program,
if all has gone to plan these should be launched shorly after Atlantis has reached orbit on the final shuttle mission.

Discovery Launching

Discovery was the 3rd shuttle to enter service, her 1st mission (STS-41-D) on August 30th 19814, flying 39 missions over 27 years she was finally retired on 9th March 2011.


Discovery was also responsible for putting the Hubble Telescope into orbit on April 24th 1990.
