Sandstone and Landscapes

You will discover a great variety of wildlife and plantlife along the hedge-bordered paths and the forest as well as several ancient fruit varieties in the orchards.
The sandstone has printed its mark on the landscape and the history of the village : see the marked boundary stones, the architecture of the houses and the quarries
A circuit of two paths has been set up, with display boards and signposts giving explanations about the surroundings.
 The Eichwald path develops several themes, the Jungholz ath, with its panoramical viewpoints, allow to discover the open landscape of Alsace Bossue.
Alsace Bossue, partly located in the Northern Vosges Regional Park is a transition between the sandstone soil forest and the « plateau lorrain ». The typical hilly landscapes, the villages nestled against the slopes and the orchards give the area its special flavour.
The discovery tour is a part of the tourist development programme of the Northern Vosges Regional Park which is focusing on the natural ressources of the villages.
It encourages inhabitants and visitors to appreciate the great value of the area.
