Das 1967 in Betrieb genommene Kraftwerk wird als Laufkraftwerk an der Langen-Grundache im Gemeindegebiet von Hopfgarten im Brixental betrieben. Von Oktober 2020 bis Frühjahr 2022 wurden 15 Mio. € in die Revitalisierungsmaßnahmen investiert. Die Modernisierung führte v.a. zu einer Verbesserung der Energieerzeugung von 15.930 MWh auf 25.560 MWh pro Jahr. Somit können ca. 7.300 Haushalte mit Strom versorgt werden.

The power plant, commissioned in 1967, is operated as a run-of-river plant on the Langen-Grundache stream in the municipality of Hopfgarten im Brixental. From October 2020 to spring 2022, €15 million was invested in revitalization measures. The modernization led primarily to an improvement in energy generation from 15,930 MWh to 25,560 MWh per year. As a result, approximately 7,300 households can now be supplied with electricity.
