This cache was approved by the Fire Chief of the Reedy Creek Fire Department. There is also an Orange County Sheriff Office substation at the fire station and they have been made aware of the cache.
Welcome to Reedy Creek Fire Department's Station number 4! This is the second in a series of caches at Reedy Creek! There are four caches in the series.
Station 4 opened in September of 2003. This became the fourth fire station at Reedy Creek when an engine company and a rescue from Station 1 at fire headquarters by EPCOT were moved here. This station covers the Downtown Disney Area, Hotel Plaza boulevard, part of Interstate 4, Disney College Program Apartments, Saratoga Springs Resort, Typhoon Lagoon and Old Key West. They also respond to Centra Care Clinic on State Road 535 and back up other areas of the Disney Resort area.
The rear part of the station is occupied by the Orange County Sheriff's Office. This is their Sector VI Substation - Walt Disney World Area. They are the primary law enforcement agency in the Orange County area of Reedy Creek. Part of the District is in Osceola County and the Osceola County Sheriff's Office handles calls in that area. The third law enforcement agency is the Florida Highway Patrol which responds anywhere in the state of Florida.
The station is also the home of the Reedy Creek Improvement District's Information Services Department.
Both the Sheriff's office and Information Services are secured areas and generally not available for tours.
With an over sized helmet, fire hose, fountain and fire hydrant, this station is very unique! Please feel free to take pictures.
You are looking for a small canister with a screw on lid. Please make sure the cap is replaced properly to keep it watertight. Also replace any materials used to camouflage the location.
The cache contains a log and NO PEN. BYOP please!
