Jesolo, o con la grafia Iesolo, è un comune italiano di 25.594 abitanti della provincia di Venezia, situato a nord di Venezia.
Il nome antico di Jesolo era Equilium (dal latino equus o dal venetico ekvo), cioè città dei cavalli. Il nome richiama l'allevamento del cavallo per il quali erano celebrati gli antichi Veneti.
Il nome attuale di Jesolo deriva probabilmente da una serie di errori di trascrizione di quello più antico (Equilo, Esulo, Lesulo, Jexulo, Jexollo, Jesolum).
Dal Cinquecento fino al 1930 Jesolo era chiamata Cavazuccherina. Questo nome derivava dall'omonimo canale (in veneziano Cava), aperto il 20 aprile 1499 e costruito da Alvise Zucharin (Zuccherina).

Jesolo, or the handwriting Iesolo, is an Italian town of 25,594 inhabitants in the province of Venice, located north of Venice. The ancient name was the Jesolo Equilium (from the Latin equus or venetico ekvo), that city of horses. The name refers to the breeding of horses for which they celebrated the ancient Veneti. The current name of Jesolo probably derives from a series of clerical errors of the older (Equilo, exiles, Lesulo, Jexulo, Jexollo, Jesolum). From the sixteenth century until 1930 was called Cavazuccherina Jesolo. This name came from the canal (in Venetian Cava), opened April 20, 1499 and built by Alvise Zucharin (sugar). Coat of Arms is: "Azure Dragon of the red" The cache is located at the entrance of the shores. Easy to find and easily accessible on foot or by bicycle.
