Cherry Hill Walk is another in the Ancient Places series. It is based on a 4.5 mile walk produced by the Fownhope residents association, a free leaflet is available from the post office in Fownhope. There are seven caches placed along the route with a bonus cache hidden elsewhere. To obtain the coordinates for this you will need to collect the words hidden in the following caches. In The Nooky, Stone me (what a view), Dogwood Puzzle and Nover Wood. The caches are all traditional but the containers vary in size and type. We hope you will find some of these amusing and interesting.

Cherry Hill is an iron age fort in this area rich in ancient ruins

Because there is no easy road access along the route and there are some ups and downs the terrain difficulty has been set for the hardest part of the walk

If walking on to Stone me after doing this cache. Please be aware that the paths can be very wet, muddy and slippery.

The suggested parking is at the recreation ground in Fownhope. This is also the parking for “Fownhope Forage” Thjere is alternative parking near GC 4765W. N 52 00.807 W 02 36.691.
