Geocache Description:

Our first placement cache. Have left a nice gift for the FTF!

This cache is located in Castle Eden Dene. It is a medium sized container with an assortment of unrelated objects.

A bit about the Dene:

This steep wooded valley has been cut deep into soft limestone rock by the action of Castle Eden Burn as it finds its way down to the coast.

Much of what you can see here is ancient woodland, making an historical link with the original wildwood that long ago covered most of England. Because of the undisturbed nature of the Dene, a wealth of wildlife can be seen, including many flowers and insects.
