This geocache is hidden in a park near the Cenotaph in the town of Ponoka. This area also has a park, horseshoe pits, recreation centre and senior drop in centre. Parking is available in nearby parking lots. Stealth may be required depending on activities in the nearby recreation facilities.
The Cenotaph was erected around 1960, in memory of our fallen comrades who served in World War I, World War II and Korea. A newly constructed Cairn shaped Cenotaph constructed of local field stone was unveiled in June of 1961, in their honour. Please pay your respects to the fallen soldiers during your visit and teach your childern of their sacrifices for our freedom.
