Geocache Description:

This cache is not at the listed coordinates, but they will get you to parking area of the Lion's Den Gorge County Park. The cache is hidden somewhere on the COUNTY GROUNDS! Read on for instructions to locate this hide.

Text Box:

Here we go again! Welcome back to the Lion's Den. Finding this hide might be easy for some, but difficult for most. All you have to do is find this survey point that is located in the park and shown in the photo. The cache is just 35 feet away from this point and easy to locate since it is hidden in the most likely location. The trick is knowing the location of this monument. If you are familiar with the park, let me re-phrase that, if you know the park really well, you should be able to walk right up to the marker and subsequently the cache. For the rest of you I have setup a little homework to help you narrow your search of the 79 acre property:

The survey marker is located at some variation of the following coordinates: N43 20.??? W087 53.???

For the North number, substitute the numbers "8" "7" "6" for the question marks. You must determine the order! Could be 876 or 867 or 768 or 786 or 678 or 687.

The west numbers are "4" "2" "1". Substitute them for the question marks. Again you must determine the order. Could be 421 or 412 or 214 or 241 or 142 or 124.

Match up all 36 possible locations: N43 20.876 W087 53.421 or N43 20.867 W087 53.421 or N43 20.876 W087 53.412 or - you get the idea, right? Plot them on a map or in your GPSr and eliminate the ones that are outside the park boundaries. That should reduce the list by half or better. Now head out to the park and start the hunt. Stay on the trails as much as possible and do not contribute to erosion by climbing the gorge walls! Happy Hunting!

**Important note about Deer Hunting**

This park allows hunting during the bow and gun deer hunting seasons! This park is closed to the general public during the Gun Deer Hunting Season which starts the Weekend Before and runs through the Weekend After Thanksgiving! This park is open to the general public during both early and late bow hunting season. Wear appropriate clothing during bow hunting season which runs mid September through early January. Hunting details are posted in the parking lot at the boardwalk entrance and visit the following web page for more information: http://www.co.ozaukee.wi.us/PDF/PublicHuntingRules.pdf

Congratulations to furryhermit for the First To Find! Sounds like I made this too easy! I will have to make the next even harder!
