Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed at Woody Bay Railway. You do not need to go onto the premises however we would recommend a train ride!!!

The cache is a regular size and has plenty of space for leaving trackables and reasonable sized items. You are looking for a lockable container.

The cache started with a FTF train magnet, log book and pen, plastic whistle.

HISTORY
Originally opened in 1898, and closed in 1935 - what you can see now at Woody Bay is the first phase in rebuilding one of the world's most famous and picturesque narrow gauge railways; the legendary Lynton & Barnstaple Railway. A one mile section has now been reopened allowing visitors to travel by train along the original 'L&B Railway' route above the Heddon Valley near Parracombe in South West England's Exmoor National Park.
