RoobyDoo: I visited Kelmscott today, to check on two caches in the series which were recently DNF'd.
Sadly, for my series, there are a number of 'improvements' being carried out currently in and around the village, most of which are impacting the locations where my caches are.

The only host available to protect a cache here (which has for over ten years), has now been chopped down, the reason of which is unclear. Remarkably, I spotted the cache, safe and well, but in the open.

Given the changes happening in the village, I'm archiving a number of the caches, as they are no longer viable, including this one.

The series on the whole has lasted over a Decade, so it has done well. Thanks for all who visited, but it's time to go now.

Geocache Description:

*** Please be aware of the nearby barbed wire at this cache. *** The first of seven caches placed 'Around Kelmscott'. Using the parking co-ordinates which will take you to the centre of the village of Kelmscott, you can do this series in whichever way you wish. It is only road side parking, so please respect local residents access. (Whilst placing the caches, I noticed a number of cars parking near to AK5, so you may wish to use this as the alternative parking or alternatively close to the church). The seven caches are traditional caches, so there is no particular way you need to do them. This is a walk of about 1.75 miles and is completely flat. There will be some minor challenges like overgrown paths, small bridges, waterlogged fields and kissing gates to overcome

. Although this shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially for the QC's

. All 'run of the mill' stuff for Geocachers! During Summer months, you will need to exercise stealth on most of the caches as this is a popular area for visitors, and especially folk using the nearby Thames, as they wend their way to the village. This area is liable to flooding, being on the Thames, so, especially in Winter months, please wear appropriate footwear. For those who found my previous Kelmscott cache, firstly, many thanks for visiting, and secondly, apologies for enticing you back
