Geocache Description:

Salcombe Dip to Inverteign Drive.
Cache and dash with a nice view.
This layby was added as a viewpoint when the A381 road improvements were completed in March 1997.
Parking is available and free for up to two hours stay.No return within 24 hours.

A nice view of the estuary, with Boats on the river, Trains beneath you on the mainline and if you so wish Automobiles behind you on the A381.
The Teign estuary is tidal from Teignmouth to Newton Abbot and the mudflats are vital to the abundant birdlife here. Shell fishermen also make a living here with mussels and cockles a plenty.I myself spent many a happy day cockling on the Salty as a boy and going up and down the river in my fathers boat which was moored in Shaldon.
