Geocache Description:

Quaker Lake is home to the largest of Allegany State Park's frogs. The Bullfrog, Rana catesbiana, is plain medium green in color, with no large spots or skin folds. Bullfrogs lay eggs later in the year than other local frogs. You will hear their mating call, a long, low-pitched Wrooomm, in June and July. Tadpoles take two winters to mature and you can find 4-inch long tadpoles, with bodies nearly as big as ping-pong balls, during their second summer.

The cache is located on the shore of Quaker lake in an area with some large logs. You might like to look for this cache in the evening to sit and enjoy the sunset and the froggy chorus. The cache is an ammo can containing boating and fishing related items. Original contents included a mini signal geocoin, as a first to find gift, with the logbook and pen. Placed with permission from Allegany State Park. Permit number ALL250
