Mange historiske byggninger, meget fint for barn og rullestolbrukere

Bømoen leir
Hæren etablerte Bømoen leir i 1898-1899 som ekserserplass for Sogn bataljon som følge av den pågående utbyggingen av Bergensbanen og behovet for en sentral militær samlingsplass med muligheten for en rask overføring av vestlandsavdelingene til Østlandet i tilfelle krig. Bømoen overtok funksjonen som ekserserplass for kompaniene fra Sogn og Sunnfjord som tidligere hadde hatt sin samlingsplass i Vik i Sogn (1874-1898).
Militærleiren
I forlegningsleiren ligger side om side to tidligere kompani-/regimentstun, ett fra ca. 1900 og et fra tiden rundt 1910. Tunene besto opprinnelig av tre soldatbrakker med en ekserserplass i midten. Vest for tunene ligger tilhørende underoffisersbrakker, offisersbrakker og en regiments/stabsbrakke. To soldatbrakker i 1910-tunet brant for øvrig ned etter et bombeangrep i 1942.
Sykestuen og ammunisjonshus
Like nord for forlegningsleiren ligger den gamle sykestuen fra 1919, bygd etter typetegning i nordisk nybarokk stil, sammen med et uthus. Like nedenfor for sykestuen ligger to laftede ammunisjonshus kledd med metallplater.
Flystripe og brannstasjon
Nord og vest for forlegningsleiren ligger flystripene på Bømoen med den eldste flystripen i retning sydvest/nordøst, krysset av den nyere øst-vestgående landingsstripen til Voss flyplass, Bømoen. Like syd for flystripene ligger den godt bevarte brannstasjonen fra andre verdenskrig.
Fredning, nedleggelse og avhending
På landsbasis kan Bømoen sammenlignes med noen av de større innlandsleirene på Østlandet, for eksempel Helgelandsmoen leir og Hvalsmoen leir.
Etter forslag om vern i landsverneplanen for forsvaret ble 28 bygninger på Bømoen fredet ved forskrift av Riksantikvaren 6. mai 2004.

Formålet med fredningen har vært å ta vare på den opprinnelige leirstrukturen og bygningene fra den eldste perioden i leirens historie med noen få unntak.
Etter nedleggelsen i 2008 er militærleiren blitt overført til Skifte Eiendom for avhending. Man planlegger nå en ny reguleringsplan for området.

Bømoen camp
The Army established Bømoen camp in 1898-1899 as the parade ground for Sogn battalion as a result of the ongoing development of the Bergen Line and the need for a central gathering place with the military option for a quick transfer of the western branches of the Eastern in the event of war. Bømoen took over the function of the parade ground for the companies from Sogn and Sunnfjord who had previously had their gathering place in Vik (1874-1898).
The camp
In quartering camp located alongside two former kompani-/regimentstun, one from ca. 1900 and one from the time around 1910. Courtyards originally consisted of three soldiers' barracks, a parade ground in the middle. West of the courtyards is its non-commissioned officer barracks, barracks and an officer regiments / staff barracks. Thurs soldier barracks in the 1910-yard burned down the rest after a bomb attack in 1942.
Sick room and ammunition
Just north of the camp barracks is the old infirmary from 1919, built by subscription type in the Nordic neo-baroque style, with an outhouse. Just below the infirmary is two log ammunition covered with metal plates.
Airstrip and the fire station
North and west of the camp barracks located on the landing strips Bømoen with the oldest runway in the direction of the southwest / northeast, crossing the recent east-west landing strip airport to Voss, Bømoen. Just south of the landing strips are well preserved fire from World War II.
Conservation, the closure and disposal
On a national basis can Bømoen compared with some of the larger inland camps in eastern Norway, for example Helgelandsmoen camp and whale Moen camp.
At the proposal on the protection of the land conservation plan for the defense were 28 buildings on Bømoen protected by regulation of Cultural Heritage 6 May 2004.

The purpose of the protection has been to preserve the original clay structure and the buildings from the oldest period of the camp's history with a few exceptions.
Since its closure in 2008, the military camp was transferred to the Replacement Property for disposal. Now planning a new development plan for the area.
