A small ammo can located on the Crooked River National Grasslands at an elevation of 3557'.
A nice climb up Haystack Butte will get you to this hidden ammo can. You will need to do a little research to find the best access to the top of the butte (buy or look at a Ochoco National Forest map). There are areas of private property that you will need to avoid, best access is from the south. Most secondary roads in the area are closed from Sept. 28 thru March 31 and many of the roads require a high clearance vehicle, but just think of the extra exercise you can get if you park on the main road!! I hid the cache under some larger rocks below a juniper tree and the rocks have a bush in front of the them. Don't want anyone to climb up here and not find the cache. Also, please look at the pictures to get an idea of where to look. Have fun and be careful.
