Geocache Description:

DSC04470.jpg

Retiredairman started caching in 2009 and on May 15th of that year, found Geogranny's cache "Geogranny's Old Farm Ruins". He's amassed a total of 184 finds as of this cache being published, but lately is more recognized for his cache hiding prowess. I personally started finding Dennis's caches when my daughter and I found "Welcome to Tincap". Since then we kind of had a bit of back and forth with him placing the caches and me getting FTF's. It was really a game in a game, but thank goodness NurseMatilda broke it up as I was feeling the pressure.

I'm placing this dedication cache for Retiredairman as he has really put a spark back into local caching, as have a few others more recently. I've been challenged by a some of his caches and cursed him on a few more, but really appreciated the effort that went into putting them together and putting them in interesting locations.

I was going to try and be really sneaky with this cache, but couldn't come up with anything too bad. I did however, make it a little trickier than simply a park and go traditional. As of late, I've had a lot of ammo cans go missing, so I've got one left and it's for this cache. If it goes missing, well then, I'll replace it with a lock n' lock.

When I placed this cache it was raining (hey, when has it been sunny lately) and my gpsr was really wonky, I tried my best to average and get good coords, but with the rain I'm not sure, so I'm just giving my fellow cachers some fair warning.

Please replace the cache in it's proper hiding place. Any logs or photos including spoilers will be DELETED!!! Hey, this is for Retiredairman and in his honour, the hide should be a little more than just a regular hide.

The terrain here is kind of rocky, but you may want to bring something to help you with vertical movement, just a thought, do what you will, but I'm just sayin'. In any event, I hope Retiredairman and all other cachers enjoy this one and I hope that he continues to provide Brockville and Area with unique and challenging caches in the future.

As with all CZ caches, the idea is to have fun and be safe, so please do both.

Cheers
