Geocache Description:

[CZ] Pohádkový príbeh, který vás dovede k malé geopoštovne.
[EN] Fairy tale which shows you the way to a little Geo Post Office.

[CZ] Bylo, nebylo.

Macecha a její deti Kacenku nemely rády.

Prejel Bobravu a cekalo jej poslední stoupání pred domovem. "No teda," pomyslel si. Prinesl z vozu prázdnou bedýnku a oríšky do ní schoval. Tam skrínku zahrabal, aby ji z cesty nikdo nevidel.

[EN] Unce upon a time a family of free farmers lived nearby the nowadays Orechov. As was usual at these times, the last of the lineage married early and after the proper time they expected a child. His wife died soon after she had delivered little Kattie and the chap then brought her up alone. But, when his father got old and handed him the estate over, he could not manage all it single. He found a stout merchant widow and married her.

His new wife cared about the estate, indeed, but forced her husband into trade. He spent only little time at home, went to Brno once, to Vienna then, to farther places other time. The wife liked fashion dress and two daughters, she brought, liked it too - they needed more and more money. The stepmother and her children disliked Kattie. She slept in a little closet, woke up with maids, the poultry was only her duty, and she was cook's handmaiden, too. Stepsisters taunted her for her dirt of the hard work and called her "Cathleen - charreeed!" which soon became "Cachareline" and then just "Cacherell".

It was an early autumn when Cacherell's father went home from the market in Brno. The evening was coming, so he chose the shorter way through Nebovidy. He crossed Bobrava and there was just the last rising between him and his home. He just passed the long and then the short safety rail - Ann's Mill tenant had built them to avoid never ending pulling up of merchant waggons slipping regurlarly the uneven edge of the road. When he made just about another fifteen Vienna fathoms, a crack sounded above him and - bing-bang-bong! - something hit his head. When he came to life again, the waggon stood still another hundred fathoms further. Once a chain barred a way branching off to the right here, but know only two blocks remained here. The horses stopped unable to decide where to go. The merchant braked the waggon and returned to learn what had knocked him down. Three nuts, each bigger than a goose egg, lay on the road. One of them had broken and when the man opened it a beautiful dress dropped into his hands. "Whoa!" whistled in his mind. He brought an empty box from the waggon then and put the nuts in it. On the left side of the road slope receded a little and there was a hole beneath one of crags, filled with drifted leaves. Here he stashed the box to keep it off sight the people travelling the road.

Once he arrived home, he took his daughter aside secretly and told her: "I've got a gift for you, Kattie. Though I've hidden it in the woods to keep it off of these shrews." And then he described her the way: "Take the road down to Bobrava. When you pass by the dry brooklet, you're there. On the right hand side, beneath a crag." At night, after everyone fell asleep, Cacherell took a lamp and sneaked out for the gift. There was a pretty dress in the first nut. When she cracked open the second one, she found superb shoes inside. She inspected both and tried them. The garment was beautiful, but what about it? The stepmother wouldn't allow her to go out. Then she opened the third nut - it contained a cute handbag. For a while she examined it, then took a look at the dress and shoes, then again into the bag, and what she saw hinted her, what to do with the first two. After little while she knew where to go. She didn't hesitate and set off immediately. She came to a venue of garden party held by local prince. You know the rest - they married eventually.

Today you can't throw a garden party here, already. Yet there is a nice outlook there and a small Geo Post Office. A village nearby has been later named Orechov, "The village of nuts" in Czech, to commemorate this story. It's really close, so watch the muggles - do not open the cache, where there are some nearby. And looking for the nuts beware of waggons.
