The Sowe Valley is a continuous riverside park stretching for 8½
miles through the outskirts of Coventry, from Hawkesbury Junction
in the north to Stonebridge Meadows in the south. It is an area of
green belt, important for it's landscape, history and nature
conservation. A riverside footpath runs along the length of the
valley with information panels at key sites.
Further information can be found on the official Sowe
Valley Footpath website.
A series of 4 caches has been placed along the section of this
footpath which runs from Clifford Bridge Road to Ansty Road. Along
this stretch, the path is flanked by masses of hawthorn trees, and
looks particularly pretty in the spring when the blossom is out, or
in the autumn when the trees are covered in glossy dark red
berries. There are also many wildflowers in the summer, and if you
are really lucky you may even spot the occasional orchid.
The footpath is dry and level, but as the caches have each been
placed a few feet from the main path, some areas may be a little
muddy after rain.
You are looking for a small round 240ml clip-lock container,
large enough for a logbook and a few small swaps.
