"Lingnan Garden" (嶺南之風) was officially opened to the public on 11 November 2000. The daily opening hours are from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. As the garden is located in the reclamation area of Lai Chi Kok in Kowloon, and lichee is a famous fruit of Lingnan, it is constructed in classical Lingnan style. The garden occupies an area
of 12 500 square metres with about 2 600 square metres covered with water features, which take up about 20% of its total area.
The garden is divided into ten scenic spots. At the centre is a pond from which all buildings and architectural structures radiate in all directions. The architectural design is in Lingnan style, modeling after the traditional layout of courtyards and winding
corridors. Ornaments of the garden include pottery sculpture, tile and plaster decoration, stone carving and woodwork and the rockery is made of stones mainly from Tai Hu in Yingde. Couplets by Guangdong masters such as Liang Qichao, Liu Huadong, Li Wentian and Kang Youwei, are displayed in the garden. Also, the colourful optical fibre light festooning the eaves from the Eastern Gate to the corridor-type bridge adds charm to the garden. There are extensive plantation areas inside and outside the garden with different species of plants. Canopies of leaves offer shade from the sun. Visitors will certainly be impressed by the exquisite
bonsai there.
Don't go after Saturday noon or on Sunday if you don't want too many muggles around you, the place near GZ will be occupied by domestic helpers.
The GPS single is so jumpy at GZ. I tried the coordinates by Vistalia but still away 11m. Thus...here you go...the hint.
