Situated in a lovely rural location with countryside views close to the crossroads, just outside the small village of Upton in the Brendon Hills, on the eastern edge of Exmoor. Old rural inns built at a crossroads were quite often used as hanging places in times gone by. Traditionally the gallows were set up at crossroads to show travellers that thieves and highwaymen would be punished if caught and felons, suicides and witches were often buried there. So crossroads came to be associated with ghosts, spirits and demons.
Fantastic walking can be found within a couple of miles and local wildlife is abundant.
