Geocache Description:

This is our second cache that was also inspired by the late Brian Jacques' Redwall series that were set in fictional Mossflower Woods (see GC2VB36).

The cache is a small cammo'd pill container, "nestled" near a small pine grove that is just a few metres off the St. Margaret's Bay Rails to Trails. To open the cache, "push and turn" the lid. Bring your own writing device. There is a "first to find" reward - a toonie and a Bluenose hand-crafted keychain. There a several places in Upper Tantallon that have great coffee.

Parking is available a short distance away near the historic French Village train station, which has been converted into popular bicycle shop and cafe. Suggested parking coordinates: N 44 41.623, W 063 53.176, however there is limited parking on both sides of the trail.

Jukka's Pine Grove was a place near Salamandastron and was the home of Jukka the Sling and her squirrel tribe. Jukka appears in the 13th book of the Redwall series, Lord Brocktree. We have enjoyed many walks along this stretch of the Rails To Trails and always thought this particular spot would make a great hiding place for a geocache. Some stealth is required since this popular trail is heavily used. Please replace the cache as found to maintain the illusion. Bring your own writing device.
