This magnetic cache is placed on a path leading to Otterspool Promenade within sight of the new sandstone pillars at the end of Jericho Lane and is very close to a tarmac path. The cache could be reached from a wheelchair. As with all our other caches in The Stones series, this one too could be found by a toddler who is pointed in the right direction.
Some stealth may be necessary on a busy day.
The cache is a 35mm film canister and contains a log book. Please replace exactly as you found it and ensure that it is not visible to passers by.
The construction of Otterspool Promenade (1950) provided both a new amenity for Liverpool and an open space dividend from the disposal of Mersey Tunnel spoil and household waste; a project repeated three decades later to reclaim the future International Garden Festival site. A favourite with kite fliers this often overlooked wide open space is perfect for views of the river and picnics.
