Geocache Description:

The cache is located at the Posted Coordinates

When I first hid The Ollie I had this safer location in mind but it was too close to the original Esplanade Riel cache. A while back it was moved and I knew I could eventually hide this again. Today TechDeckPerson spent a while skating so I had some time.

Have a seat along the bottom wall and use your stealth while you retrieve this magnetic container. Bring your own pencil. It should be pretty easy to find, except for the issues with muggles. Extreme stealth is required. This park is busy most of the time and is guarded by volunteer event staff and the city ambassadors in order to keep order and keep the patrons safe.

Congrats to blueriders on the FTF. Great to meet you.

This cache is a re-hide of the first in a series promoting Girl's skateboarding in Winnipeg, in honour of TechDeckPerson. Skate camps and other supports exist in Manitoba for young boys, but so far not enough girls have been identified to warrant much activity aimed toward them. That said, an US based group SkateLikeAGirl and the Manitoba Skateboarding Coalition used to hold a girls only event called "Chicks Flip Out" in July for 2 years, attracting skaters in their teens and 20s from around the world. So get out there and get your skate on... it's not just for the boys.

From WinnipegSkateParks.com:
The Plaza at the Forks has become one of Canada's best skateparks. Covering a total area of over 44,000 square feet, this park consists of a 30,000 square foot plaza and a 8,500 square foot bowl complex with a 17 foot cradle. It was designed by Newline Skateparks in association with van der Zalm + associates and Scatliff + Miller + Murray. It opened on June 30th, 2006.

The Central Plaza features terrain inspired by famous international skate spots in places such as San Francisco, Barcelona, Japan and beyond. And, the main plaza area is made up of a combination of various stair sets, banks, rails and ledges set within a host of custom sculptures and other art pieces - the majority of which are skateable.

Particular highlights include the notched vert wall, the “Magic Carpet” (a super elevated concrete ribbon track) and multiple granite capped ledges.

The bowl complex is a one of a kind 8,500 square foot bowl unit combining traditional pool and modern coping lines. Walls begin at 5 feet and progress through a series of hips, elevators, extensions, and a pump bump to a massive 17-foot cradle and 13 foot over vert pocket.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
