Geocache Description:

The given coordinates are not for the cache, but for a random point on a bridle path from which the light may be seen after dusk!

The Royal Air force College, Cranwell is built on the site which was originally used by the Admiralty in World War 1 for an aeroplane and airship station. The College was opened in 1920 and for some years, temporary buildings were used.
The design for College Hall was based on Sir Christopher Wren’s Royal Hospital in Chelsea. The foundation stone was laid in 1929 and the building was first occupied in 1933. In the dome. 130 feet up, is a light which is registered with Trinity House. In the early days it could be seen over 30 miles away, though the modern light is not so powerful. It is the most inland registered lighthouse.

You can usually stop briefly for a better view of the college at N53.02.103 W000.30 605.

To find the cache you need to discover a little about other well-known lights.
