Geocache Description:


Ewen Maddock Dam is a beautiful reserve bounded by ferns, tee-tree swamps, eucalyptus and sub-tropical forest. The tracks are well developed, clearly marked, and low gradient – so anyone could walk them, ride a bike, or a horse.

The dam is stocked with Australian Bass, Yellowbelly, Mary River Cod, Saratoga, Tandans, Spangled Perch & Eels. There have also been reports of Barramundi caught in the dam, but they were never stocked by the Fisheries. Boating/Fishing is restricted to bank angling or paddle/wind powered canoes, kayaks or boats. There is a gravel launching area between the water intake tower and the spillway.

The closest parking is on Ford Rd (off Tunnel Ridge Rd). Or park at Maddock Park on Mooloolah Connection Rd and walk the whole track (19 kms return).
