Geocache Description:

Ewen Maddock Dam is a beautiful reserve bounded by ferns, tee-tree swamps, eucalyptus and sub-tropical forest. The tracks are well developed, clearly marked, and low gradient – so anyone could walk them, ride a bike, or a horse.

The boardwalk that runs westward from Maddock Park has a bird watching hide and wetland viewing platform from where you can keep a look out for species such as Magpie Goose, Royal Spoonbill, Sacred Kingfisher and Plumed Whistling Duck. 184 bird species have been recorded in and around the dam.

The closest parking is at the end of Kowald Road at Landsborough. Or park at Maddock Park on Mooloolah Connection Rd and walk the whole track (19 kms return).
