The Preserve provides a site for research on prairie ecosystems and grassland maintenance and a field laboratory for classes and other interested individuals and groups. Park at 41 20.326, 96 08.798 or if the gate is closed, you may park on State Street but NOT in front of the gate and hike in. Access to the area is anytime during daylight hours. It will be a short hike from the parking area (or a longer hike from State Street) but 80% of hike is on a mowed trail. The only time that entrance could be a problem would be during schedules burns, three times a year. The holder is a glass tube with sticks for your log--initials only. Have fun and enjoy the area and all it has to offer.
